The Quest for the Truth

A message from Mohamed Al Fayed:

“It is more than ten years since my beloved son Dodi was killed in a car crash along with Diana, Princess of Wales. Finally, after many obstacles, the full Inquests into their deaths have begun.

“I have had to fight for this to happen. So many people in the British Establishment never wanted the inquests, because they were afraid of what would be revealed in court. They were afraid that the cover-up would be exposed, that the truth of the circumstances of their deaths would emerge, embarrassing and humiliating them all over the world.

“Of course, it is in the public interest that Diana’s death is properly investigated. But I have kept going not just for her sake, but for my son’s. As any parent knows, you don’t just give up when there are good reasons to believe that the truth of your child’s death is not being told. Diana was beautiful, funny, compassionate, and loved my son as much as he loved her. I think the people who loved Diana, and would have loved Dodi too if they’d had the chance to know him, deserve the whole truth.

“I hope the inquests will achieve that, and that all the evidence will be properly presented before a jury of ordinary men and women.

“So many of you have written to me over the years, and have come, still, to sign the condolence books at Harrods. Your encouragement has been a tremendous support to me and my family. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I believe Dodi and Diana are together in heaven. They will be looking down on us, and thanking you too.”
