A Winning New Year

It’s about time that the quality of our play was properly reflected in the leader’s table and our spectacular 3:0 victory over West Brom last night has done just that!

After a series of games that didn’t earn us the points we deserved, we’ve now leapt five places in the Premier League, and it’s rightly lifted the team’s spirit.

The boys are a close-knit team; in-tune with each other, enthused, energetic, and always giving their opposition a run for their money; last night they were an absolute pleasure to watch. Playing with true Cottagers’ fighting spirit, the lads were determined to get the goals and send West Brom home with their tail between their legs.

Simon Davies leading the way to Fulham's 3:0 victory over West Brom - January 2011I was delighted to see Simon Davies (pictured) on such top form. He opened the account with a fantastic 30-yard strike and was instrumental in both the follow up efforts from Clint Dempsey and Brede HangelandDavid Stockdale was a hero who showed us exactly why we will not suffer from Mark Schwarzer’s absence, and deputised for him admirably.

Well done to Mark Hughes and Alistair Mackintosh, whose hard work and determination has led us into 2011 exactly how we mean to go on. Winning.

Come on you Whites!
