Cherished Memories

Children afflicted with life-limiting illness not only deserve joy and laughter in their lives, they need it. Bringing a lasting smile to a child’s face is something charity Cherished Memories specialises in by arranging once-in-a-lifetime experiences for children from hospices in the South East of England.

When Mr Al Fayed first heard about the charity, he was quick to find out how he could get involved. Since then he has invited the children and their families to enjoy the complete Christmas Harrods experience: dining at a Harrods restaurant and visiting Santa’s Grotto. Mr Al Fayed always tries to meet the children and present them with gifts; and gives girls a hair and beauty day at the Harrods salon, Urban Retreat.

Days like this means a lot to children whose everyday lives are a constant battle, but funds to organise them are short.
