Lotus Children's Center

Located on the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, Blue Sky Ger Village is home to many orphaned and abandoned children.

Created as a part of the Lotus Children’s Center, a wider initiative to help the growing number of street children in the country, the village not only offers children a place to stay - in its traditional Mongolian felt tents, or 'gers' - but a resident ger mother whose task is to care for the children, and give them the best opportunity for a better life. 
 

First impressions

Laden with chocolates, biscuits and toys, Mohamed Al Fayed received a warm welcome when he visited the village in 2006.
